Free Booze

Published Feb. 25, 2010 at 4:44 a.m.
Trying to get to the hotel was like dating...best if done in the daylight otherwise your not sure where you are waking up...The best part of the hotel was yes...free booze. The Manager's Reception is literally drink for free all you want for two hours. AWSOME! The drinks were very strong and the bartenders very friendly. For only this reason, I would come there again. The "free" breakfast was so so. You get what you don't pay for. Omlete's "made to order" was funny as the eggs were mostly not done and you had to tip the cook. The amenities: yes there is a pool, might I add only goes to 3ft and I brought two teens with me, so they thought it was lame. Also there is a "gameroom" but you pay for all the games. Games are a pool table and an air hockey table and two video games...The elevators were always busy and jam packed so you have to wait a long while for one or walk up to your room...The walls are very thin in the rooms so you can hear your neighbors, you can't open the windows and you can't adjust the temperature down so we were hot all night. The beds were very uncomfortable..my back still hurts. It is a walk to the MAX but not too bad. This was my first time taking the MAX, i found that very cool and easy. There is NO WHERE to eat nearby. The best place we ate was at a "Gyro Cart" about two blocks south. yummy...The hotel restaurant service was awful and food overpriced and the staff very "space cadet-ish". For this hotel I say GO! go for the booze and easy access to the MAX and friendly staff.
